What’s behind the curtain?

February 8, 2011 by Laura

So what’s behind door…I mean curtain…number one?

Its our bedroom window! We have curtains in our bedroom!! (please excuse the puttied holes of the old window hardware…I was too anxious to post pictures to actually paint over the dried spackle and then wait for the paint to dry) My mom was here this weekend and sewed these awesome curtains for us! She had previously sewn the navy silk to cover the window on our patio door but we were lacking the real curtains for the main window.

I love this pattern!! This is an extreme close-up of the panel. It blends together when you step back and ends up being very subtle. This was one of the fabrics we ordered at Calico Corner last month. I’m thrilled with how it looks!

The navy door and navy/cream curtain panels work so well with our navy/cream duvet. It was also so much darker in our room last night – awesome! Of course when you get one item accomplished, you want to do several more. Now the terribly outdated floor vent stands out so a trip to the hardware store is in order to purchase a silver one. The beige mini-blinds that came with the house? They really aren’t appealing. I’m thinking two inch white wood blinds now!

I am so excited another item on my New Year’s Resolution list is complete! Thanks so much, mom!

no, no…don't purchase new floor vents. When we redid out living room and bathroom, we spray painted them silver with spray paint made for metal. We even did the register that's up on our wall. We saved sooo much money and they look great.
