So we finally received the second curtain rod after our failed attempt last weekend! It was in OKC last Friday but because of the snow (that had already melted on the ground!), I didn’t get it until Monday. The curtains look awesome and once I’m home while there is still daylight out, I’ll try to get a decent picture. During this process though, I’ve discovered something else…I need more furniture!
See that hole in the corner? It is bare and blank and I need something to fill it! I feel like that space is screaming at me for a chair and side table. And maybe a floor lamp…but something! The corner has a yearning for some cute accent furniture so I’m now on the hunt.
Here is a close-up of the wall color and curtains. The walls are a pale grey with a blue undertone and the curtains are a very cool pattern that is a charcoal color. Since our couches and chair we already have are solid, I would love a patterned chair.
Well of course my first choice is an orange chair! DUH! 🙂 This one from Target is so cute and on sale! The best four letter word in all of the world? Sale! This is only second to Free but Free is usually harder to come by so Sale is the best word.
Then I started thinking, what if the patterned chair was too much against the patterned curtains? Would that overwhelm the corner? This chair from Anthropologie is made out of recycled jute sacks and is so great! I love the look of it: like you can just flop down and curl up for hours.
This chair from Ballard Designs is great because it is slim and would fit really well in the corner. Even better, it comes in a ton of colors and patterns! You can pick your favorite but it always has the nailhead trim. (I heart a good nailhead trim) I liked this blue color and the subtle pattern. But again, I worry the pattern might mimic the curtains too much. Picking a chair will be a very tough one and won’t be an overnight decision.
Then, of course, there is the table issue. I can’t have a chair without a side table! I love garden stools, they are everywhere right now, and this silver one from Wisteria is amazing. I’ve seen the white ones and sometimes a blue or green but never the silver.
My favorite has to be this mirrored side table from West Elm. Right now it is 20% off, too! I hope Conner is taking notes because I sent him this link last week and titled it, “Anniversary Present?” The traditional third anniversary present is usually leather or metal/glass. This would fit the theme perfectly and it would benefit us both. Win, win people!
Then, of course, I start thinking about lighting in this little nook but that will definitely be another post because just like the guy from Anchorman, “I. love. lamp.”
