So today was a fun day on the Internet for me! I was featured on BuzzFeed. Say what?!
Thanks to a girlfriend, I was alerted that my DIY tufted headboard was featured as one of their 24 West Elm Hacks. It was a pretty cool feeling to see my headboard and my room on a site like this. Thanks for the feature, BuzzFeed!
Side note: my family doesn’t really support the word ‘hack’ but I get it. I’m knocking off something that is really expensive so I get it. I do! But then I read some of the comments on the BuzzFeed article… ouch… maybe some day we’ll get to see the houses of the people who leave mean comments, yes? 😉
Congratulations Laura! What an honor! It’s so hard to take those mean comments with a grain of salt, but you totally have the right outlook. Your room, and headboard, are gorgeous!
Thank you very much!
Some people just have to try to bring others down. Just focus on the positive comments. How great to be get noticed for something you did.
Thank you, Susan. I have refocused and refuse to pay attention to the negative. If anything, it makes me more determined for future projects!
So exciting and such a great DIY, Laura!!
Thank you, Emily!! xoxo
It’s a great DIY and I know that I will be using your inspiration when I move to my new home in North Carolina next year. Please pay no attention to the comments on BuzzFeed, I’ve noticed that they are usually snarky no matter what the project is or the outcome. To me this just reflects people lacking in manners and any creativity all together. Let’s face it, if they were truly DIYer’s like we are they’d know where to get supply’s for their projects to save them money. You have a fabulous eye and are an inspiration!!
Hah – isn’t that the truth? People who DIY know what you go through, even if it isn’t a perfect project. Thank you for the kind words and good luck on your move!
Nasty comments = JEALOUS. Your projects are great & take a lot of imagination, creativity, and as Jil said, you inspire all the true DIY’s 🙂
Thank you, Susan. I appreciate your kind words!
