Today I’m currently coveting new couches for our living room because I am so over our current ones! Thanks to Centsational Girl and Twitter, I found this absolutely amazing DIY project by Marcus Design. You won’t believe it!

Here is Nancy’s bedroom with the Dorothy Draper chests. For those who don’t know, Dorothy Draper is the one who started interior design as a profession. She created a new style and went against the norm in 1923. She was famous for the interiors she designed, as she loved to do public spaces in addition to the homes of the wealthy. These chests are usually sold for $900-$1300 a piece!

This is what Nancy started with – a plain Rast chest from IKEA. They are only $39.99! After some paint, new hardware and some detail work, here is the finished product…

Unbelievable! I really can’t believe they’re even the same product. I think she did such a great job and I would love to try the same project in my home. To see the full details, visit Marcus Design here.
