Today I’m currently coveting new couches for our living room because I am so over our current ones! They were a purchase before we moved into our first house (always a mistake – hated the color as soon as they were delivered and they didn’t really fit the space!) and they have taken a beating in the last seven years. It is time for something fresh and new.

kivik-loveseatI love the chunky lines of this sofa as well as the price (Ikea, please come to OKC!). I’m not sure I’m totally sold on the color but I just love the clean and crisp edges and the hidden legs. Guess what’s going on my Christmas list?

Today, I’m coveting a new vignette for our sofa table in the living room. It is very unfinished and blah right now. I need something better for this small surface!

Succulent DisplayI saw this pin on Emily Henderson’s blog and I instantly loved it! I’ve wanted to plant some succulents for the house for a while now and this vignette is perfect. Our sofa table is white too so I love seeing what it would look like for us. You could be seeing a copy of this very soon!

Today I’m currently coveting a home with a basement. The crazy tornadoes we’ve had lately could have something to do with that!

Dream Media RoomIf I had a basement, I would finish it out, make it a safe room and create a fabulous media room like this! The ceiling is fantastic as are the globe pendants. I also love the tall table in place of the sofa table and more than one TV hanging on the wall. It is an entertaining and (college) football lover’s dream!

2013 HGTV Star

Are you watching this year’s HGTV Star? (I still don’t know how I feel about the change from HGTV Design Star to just HGTV Star) It premiered on Sunday night and the jury is still out about some of these characters! The design is starting off well though.

HGTV StarThe first challenge was a white box vignette and I loved this one. The x-benches with nailhead trim are fabulous, as is the navy and white!

HGTV Star2Love this bar cart!! It is fancy and practical.

HGTV Star3As for the designers? Check out this guy. He’s a professor and I think I’m obsessed with him. His whole vibe is amazing – I can’t wait to see what else he does this season!

HGTV Star4This girl? Such a cutie. I love her and am totally envious of her hair!

HGTV Star5But my most favorite? The judges. Genevieve and Vern, especially. I have loved them since Trading Spaces!! If I came home and saw Genevieve in my house, I would die. For real. What a dream!

Do you have a favorite yet? It usually takes me 2-3 episodes before I find my favorite. I can’t wait!

I can’t stop drooling over bathrooms with two sinks. We need this so badly. There is plenty of room in the vanity so I’m not sure why it hasn’t ever been done to our master bath! I want to finish our kitchen first but as soon as that’s done, I will be ready to tackle our bathroom vanity. Here are some great inspiration pics that had me at hello.

Right now I’m currently coveting a piece of furniture that doesn’t exist close to my ‘hood or in my price range.

Nightstand HelpNow that I’m finished with my mirrored nightstand, I’m looking for a piece of furniture to makeover for Conner’s side of the bed. The massive problem? There is an air vent on the floor of his side of the bed. So any regular nightstand won’t work since it needs to sit up above the floor and not block this vent. Do you have any leads? Have you seen anything like this piece of furniture for less than $50 and is around 40″ wide and 29″ tall? I don’t want to pay a lot since I will be making it over. I would greatly appreciate your help!

I’m sure by now you’ve heard that the 2013 Pantone color of the year is emerald. Described on their website as a lively, radiant and lush green, Pantone shows many options for using this color in your home and wardrobe. I’ve seen it all across Pinterest as well so I wanted to try it out for myself.

Pinterest Image - Emerald TablescapeMy favorite emerald in your home example is this beautiful tablescape from Pinterest that incorporates black, white and gold. I love a decorated table and since it is the first thing you see in our house, I always try to have a set table with fun and fresh elements.

Emerald Tablescape1This is my version that mostly uses what I already had in the house! Since switching out my great-great-uncle’s chairs for gold ones weren’t an option, I brought in a pop of gold with chargers from Bed, Bath and Beyond. The table runner? It’s just two yards of fabric from Hobby Lobby! (I plan on recovering a bench with this fabric once I’m ready to switch over the table to something for summer – yay for double-duty!)

Emerald Tablescape2I always try to start with our wedding china and its holding up quite nicely for being used so much over the past five years. Some people only use their dishes once or twice a year but since its always out at our house, we use it quite often! The flatware is the matching pattern to our china and the green ‘napkins’ are actually a yard of emerald green fabric from Hobby Lobby, cut into six pieces and folded to look like napkins.

Emerald Tablescape3The beautiful green glasses are the only really new thing on this table. I found them on eBay and fell in love with the blown glass. The water glasses are gifts from our wedding and match the china. I would love to have some with a solid band of gold, too!

Emerald Tablescape4Last but not least, beautiful hydrangea. Tables are so much prettier with fresh flowers and I love these big, white blooms! Our local Whole Foods always has great sales on flowers and last week had a really good deal on these. They are one of my favorites!
